Our test to see if the Canadian market could handle 2 more ChannelNEXT events proved positive. However, the resources from vendors were stretched. As such, in 2016, we have adjusted to have the usual three 2-day events plus two 1-day events.

East (Quebec and Ottawa): April 11-12 – full 2-day event

Central (Ontario): May 16-17 – full 2-day event

East Coast (Maritimes): September 14 – 1-day event

West (B.C.): October 24-25 – full 2-day event

West (Alberta): October 27 – 1-day event (each year we will alternate between B.C. and Alberta)

For the one-day events, delegates will be able to stay overnight if they choose as we will be ending the day with dinner and hospitality suites. We may host some MasterMind session on the following day, if the demand is there.

With a little added effort, vendors can leverage the five ChannelNEXT events to cover the Canadian Market for face-to-face activities. Since your team is there, consider bolting-on your private event within our ChannelNEXT event! Host your partner networking or training event road show at the same time. Have a reception or partner recognition and appreciation evening. Depending on the day, you can host your private event either before or after the ChannelNEXT event. Spend an extra day or afternoon to meet your other channel partners. The facilities are already fully outfitted and we could help with content and onsite event organization.

Another way to get more ROI, is to leverage all of the pre and post event event communications to the channel. Most of it is free! Several vendors are also hosting post-event webinars to get one more swing at the VARs and MSPs who attended as well as to reach out to all of the other VARs and MSPs who could not make it (from the local region).

Remember the main factors for vendors to be successful at channel events are:

  1. Pre-event preparation and awareness to pave the way for your meetings
  2. Deliver an impactful message and memorable experience to the delegates at the event
  3. Get the most face-time with the delegates at the event
  4. Follow up as quickly as possible
  5. Keep on nurturing the prospects until they close
