By Julian Lee As a news publisher, journalist, interviewer, tech enthusiast and channel guy, I get to see many different points of view from some of the smartest people in the industry. I also have access to a very large amount of research data which I always take with a grain of salt as we know that data is only a reflection of a point of time in the past, and there are many factors [...]

Forecast for the Channel in 2023

2022-12-28T10:04:41-05:00

By Julian Lee Overall, it appears that the IT sector will continue to grow significantly in 2023. For channel partners, Cybersecurity is growing at a rate of about 27%, compared to 7% for other managed services. That’s a good sign for the channel and vendors in 2023, however, expect recession-related spending freezes in some sectors to slow things down in IT. Many of these solutions would go unnoticed if the channel did not exist. Simply put, vendors rely on channel partners to reach customers, sell, deploy, and support their products. This "marriage" between vendor and channel partner is the birth of something [...]

The Channel Partner Ecosystem: Where We Are, Where We’re Going

2022-03-28T14:03:43-04:00

Today, there are two primary partner types that dominate the ecosystem that has been evolving over the past 40 years: Transactional and non-transactional. This evolution has been mostly fuelled by changes in the buyer’s behaviours and how products are consumed (which has now accelerated due to the pandemic). On a macro-level, the new partner ecosystem is composed of many diverse players. How the DNA of these different organisations continue to interact and adapt is still [...]
